Securing the lowest level so you can move up

Meeting Maslow

An explanation of our mission and our basis in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

This is a student-run community organization! Partnerships are always welcome to keep it relevant.

What is Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs?

A psychological theory by Abraham Maslow that suggests humans must meet the lower levels of the "needs pyramid" to reach the higher levels. Simply speaking, we cannot spend time self-reflecting, building relationships, and protecting our mental health if we can't even find frequent meals.

How can we be expected to focus on the upper levels when we're in physiological need?

And to make matters worse, it's hard to meet the lowest level of need in this economic environment.

There are options out there to find support in the Boston area, but they're not always easy to access, apply for, or even find online.

That's where we come in.

We compiled a list of resources that meet "level one" needs and put them all in one, easily-accessible place.

Check out our menu tabs to find options that fit your individual needs.

If you know of a resource that has not been listed on this site, contact us and we'll be happy to update our lists.
